| The Ruta Maya Poetry Open Mic is exploring the possibility of publishing a chapbook anthology of selected work that has appeared on our stage. Like the show itself, the success of a publication would rely on the interest and participation of the poets. No deadline has been set, however the rate of submissions will determine the future of the project. Please consult the following SUBMISSION GUIDELINES |

| © Copyright All rights remain with the author. The publisher is given permission to reproduce the work a single time. Payment Authors will receive one free copy of the publication. Additional copies will be available at 50% of cover price. (Anticipated Cover Price $5.00 USD) Editorial Process The goal is to reflect the diversity of everyone involved with the Ruta Maya Poetry Open Mic. The editor(s) will attempt to select the strongest work from each contributor. Submission, however, is not a guarantee of publication. Submit 3 - 5 Original Poems Submissions of less than 3 poems will not be considered. The work you submit must be your own. Include your name as it would appear for publication. Please limit your submission to no more than 5 poems. Submit Once Select the final versions of your best work and place them into a single submission. Revisions will not be accepted at a later date. Please do not send your work piecemeal (ie. one poem at a time) Proofread Your Work Other than obvious typos, the publisher will assume that your punctuation and grammer is intentional. Cite Previously Published Material If any of the work you submit has appeared elsewhere (chapbook, book, print or online journal) please include all publication information. to Submit Electronically (e-mail) Copy & Paste your work directly into the body of your e-mail. No Unsolicited Attachments - if the publisher requires a digital file one will be requested. The word "submission" MUST appear in the subject of your e-mail. E-mails without the word "submission" in the subject will be considered SPAM and will be deleted without being read. to Submit with a Data CD Burn your work to a CD and submit directly to David Bates at the Ruta Maya Poetry Open Mic. Write or label your name on the face of the disc and include all contact info as a seperate file on the disc. Discs will not be returned. NOTE: All files must be in "Rich Text Format" RTF to Submit a Hard Copy Hard Copy submissions MUST be typed, single-spaced with name and contact info on every page.
